Overview
Scarlett Lopez Freeman has more than a decade’s worth of experience defending businesses in litigation involving a wide range of employment-related claims involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour laws, restrictive covenants, and ERISA benefits. She also routinely advises on all aspects of the employment relationship – including hiring, terminations, and protecting proprietary information -- and proactively helps implement policies and procedures designed to avoid disputes and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Scarlett previously practiced at an AmLaw 200 firm, where she represented management in all stages of workplace related litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Her clients have included companies across various industries, including financial services, insurance, technology, healthcare, and life sciences.
Before entering the practice of law, Scarlett helped manage human resources, compensation and benefits, finance, fundraising and operations functions for the U.S. office of The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), a non-governmental organization operating in East Africa and Southeast Asia.
