Overview
Lisa Peterson represents employers of all sizes on a full spectrum of labor and employment matters, from providing counseling and advice to pre-litigation negotiations, and all the way through trial. Her diverse practice includes litigating claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower claims, and Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) actions and class actions. She represents clients in a variety of industries, with a focus on the hospitality, restaurant and healthcare industries.
Lisa provides preventative counseling to employers on subjects such as handling of employee terminations and discipline, internal workplace investigations, development of various workplace policies and procedures, and compliance with state and federal labor laws. Lisa also has significant experience defending businesses under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Unruh Civil Rights Act, and various other state civil rights acts. She is a proven trial attorney and has successfully tried several cases to verdict in jury trials.
In 2024, Lisa was appointed to the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce (GICC) Board of Directors. GICC is a premier business member organization with over 800 businesses in the Greater Irvine area, aiming to promote an economic climate that strengthens the competitiveness of local services, programs, and information.
During law school, Lisa competed internationally in the Vis Moot Court Competition in Hong Kong. She also served as a judicial extern for two federal judges in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
