Overview
Garrick Chan advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law and privacy matters related to background checks and litigates single plaintiff and class/representative action cases brought under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and the state’s Labor Code, including wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination claims.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Garrick was an associate in the San Francisco office of an international labor and employment law firm, where he counseled on issues arising under state and federal laws including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (ICRAA), as well as compliance with San Francisco’s Public Health Emergency Leave Ordinance. Before that, he defended global manufacturers and distributors in consumer actions for another international law firm.
During law school, Garrick clerked for the Hon. Holly J. Fujie of the Los Angeles Superior Court and served as president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.
