Overview
Abby Putzulu advises on various labor and employment law matters with a focus on defending employers against harassment and discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes (including class actions), and workplace safety investigations.
With a talent for simplifying complex topics, Abby provides guidance on various aspects of employment including, leaves of absence, accommodations, terminations, workplace safety, Cal/OSHA compliance, San Francisco regulations, and prevailing wage issues. She frequently speaks and writes on evolving Cal/OSHA regulations, particularly those pertaining to COVID-19, workplace violence prevention, and evolving workplace standards.
Before pursuing law, Abby worked as a teacher and school administrator in Nashville, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C.. During law school, she gained hands-on experience in wage and hour litigation through the Individual Representation Clinic. Abby also held leadership roles, serving as Executive Notes Editor for the UC Hastings Women’s Law Journal, Vice President of the Women’s Law Society, student liaison to the UC Hastings Curriculum Committee and competing on the Trial Team. She currently serves on the boards of the Women Lawyers of Alameda County and California Women Lawyers.
