Wendy Baker’s practice is devoted exclusively to advice, counsel, and compliance matters for national and local clients. With extensive experience both in-house and in private practice, Wendy is adept at advising on – and resolving -- challenging day-to-day employee issues. Areas of significant experience include navigating complex state and federal leave laws, advising on Title VII and state civil rights issues, managing multifaceted company restructures including WARN Act implications, and counseling on wage and hour issues. Wendy regularly conducts workplace investigations, including claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other complaints of misconduct or wrongdoing. Wendy also helps clients meet their specific business objectives by providing management training and developing preventative policies and procedures.
Formerly serving as Senior Counsel and Vice President of Employee & Labor Relations for a national higher educational institution and Vice President and General Counsel for another, Wendy is able to anticipate areas of concern and opportunity for businesses in this challenging environment. Additionally, her 10+ years of experience litigating employment-related matters afford invaluable insight into how businesses may avoid being targets for litigation.
