Overview
Teri Gibbs is an associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She defends and counsels employers in a wide range of labor and employment law disputes, including single and multi-plaintiff claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative actions, wage and hour violations, and government agency investigations.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Teri gained valuable experience defending clients as a litigation association at regional and national firms, where she focused on labor and employment, sexual assault, and general liability matters. She also advised her clients on navigating state and federal wage and hour and employment laws, maintaining compliant handbooks and policies, and properly classifying non-exempt/exempt employees and independent contractors. Her past clients include healthcare companies, hospitals, food and beverage companies, staffing agencies, construction companies, automotive manufacturers, law firms, trusts, music and film production companies, municipalities, counties, and government agencies.
Teri earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, she contributed to her law school’s newspaper and received merit-based scholarships and CALI Awards in Civil Rights Theories and Sexual Equality. She was named a San Diego County Bar Association Diversity Fellow and served as Events Chair and Vice President for the Black Law Student Association.
Before law school, Teri earned her B.A. in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
