Overview
Dan Schmidt defends businesses against employment-related claims, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wage and hour suits, and helps manage their exposure in a cost-effective manner.
Dan attended Pepperdine Law School on the GI Bill. During law school, Dan was a judicial intern for the Hon. W. David Counts of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Dan focused on employer defense at a Portland-based litigation boutique firm. Prior to his legal career, Dan worked as an executive in food distribution with Target and served nine years as an Armor Officer in the United States Army. Dan also works from time to time as a military advisor on Hollywood movies, most recently on Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, where in addition to working with the costume and props department to depict the military units and tactics as accurately as possible, he also had a small role.
