A seasoned litigator in Fisher Phillips’ Los Angeles office, Christopher Gelpi focuses on providing comprehensive employment counsel with zeal, advocacy and understanding. He takes the time to listen to clients, pinpoint their individual needs, and design strategies to obtain exemplary results and build solid and lasting relationships.
Christopher represents clients in employment litigation matters involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, unfair competition and restrictive covenants. He has extensive experience representing businesses in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and before the Equal Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the National Labor Relations Board’s Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
Christopher has defended employers in numerous wage and hour class action lawsuits, in litigation related to worker classification issues and employment benefits under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and in Private Attorney General Act lawsuits involving allegations of misclassification, unpaid wages, improper meal and rest periods, and improper use of the tip credit.
Christopher regularly advises and counsels management on all employment issues and conducts seminars and training for in-house counsel, risk managers, human resources managers and other personnel administrators on a variety of employment related issues with an eye towards preventing litigation.
Christopher earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review. While in law school, Christopher interned with Judge Julio Fuentes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and for Judge Rosemary Gambardella of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
