Amanda Brown Joins as Partner and Lauren McDonald Joins as Of Counsel

Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Amanda Brown and Lauren McDonald have joined the firm’s Dallas office. Amanda joins as Partner from a global AmLaw 50 firm and Lauren joins as Of Counsel after several years in various in-house capacities.
Amanda and Lauren continue the growth momentum of the firm’s Dallas office after the recent arrivals of Collin Brodrick, Jonathan Elifson, Liz Drumm, Gregory Zerzan, Alen Samuel, and Sarah In. “The energy of our expanding office is undeniable, and welcoming talent like Amanda and Lauren highlights our message to the market that we are major players in the labor and employment law arena,” said Adam Sloustcher, Regional Managing Partner of the firm’s Dallas office. “Amanda’s strong track record representing clients in significant employment matters combined with Lauren’s in-house prowess expands the breadth and depth of the labor and employment law support we can offer clients from litigation to arbitration and everything in between.”
Amanda Brown:
Amanda joins Fisher Phillips as Partner from a global AmLaw 50 firm where she represented employers in a wide-variety of high-stakes litigation involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, violations of leave law, violations of wage and hour law, whistleblower allegations, and restrictive covenants. Her experience includes class/collective actions, systemic discrimination or pattern and practice claims, and obtaining and defending against injunctive relief.
Amanda’s practice also encompasses proactive strategies to help clients prevent workplace disputes before they arise providing practical solutions and advice and compliance counseling. She develops and implements litigation-avoidance strategies and trains clients on the latest developments in federal and state employment laws, reductions in force, employee accommodations, pay equity, wage and hour audits, and employee discipline. Amanda also conducts internal investigations of executives and other senior-level employees involved in alleged misconduct.

Amanda earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where she was CLE Editor of SMU Law Review, and earned her undergraduate degree from Emory University. Amanda is active in the Dallas legal community as a member of the Patrick E. Higginbotham Inn of Court, the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, and the St. Thomas Aquinas Lawyers’ Association.
Lauren McDonald:
Lauren joins Fisher Phillips as Of Counsel after most recently serving as Senior Counsel for a multinational healthcare services company. In that role, she managed employment-related litigation being conducted by outside counsel and provided strategic advice to management on workplace issues involving Title VII, ADA, FMLA, the PWFA, and the FLSA. She also prepared and implemented training for hospital personnel on compliance with a variety of federal and state labor and employment laws.
Lauren also served as in-house counsel for a large community college network located in Texas. In that capacity she provided strategic advice and employment-related legal counsel to the Chancellor, six campus Presidents, COO, Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost, and Executive Director of Human Resources. She advised Human Resources and Title IX Departments on completing accurate and thorough workplace investigations and trained various HR personnel and advised administrative leadership on achieving compliance with a variety of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
And prior to her in-house roles, Lauren was in private practice and served as an Associate at both a boutique labor and employment law firm in Fort Worth and a regional corporate firm with various locations throughout Texas.
Lauren earned her J.D. from Baylor University School of Law and her B.B.A. in Business Management, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
