Overview
Megan Janes is a partner in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Megan enjoys representing employers of all sizes across several industries, including healthcare, independent and private education, automotive dealerships, construction, hospitality, and more. Her day-to-day work often includes litigation involving allegations of discrimination, denial of leave, wage and hour matters, or restrictive covenants, both at the administrative level and in court. Megan also assists employers with HR matters, including counseling on ways to reduce the risk of litigation or conducting informative trainings on how to comply with employment laws.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Megan was a litigation attorney at a Fort Lauderdale-based firm where she practiced complex commercial litigation and employment law. In addition to routine employment law issues, her practice encompassed complex business disputes, as well as high-value fraud and corporate misconduct claims. One of Megan’s significant victories involved pursuing a rogue real estate manager: following a jury trial, a nearly $30 million-dollar racketeering judgment was entered.
Outside the office, Megan is a board member of the Federal Bar Association, Broward Chapter, and is involved with her local Chamber of Commerce.
