Lawyers Discuss Employer Vaccine Mandates
News

In an interview with SHRM, Kevin Troutman and Rich Meneghello discuss employer vaccine mandates and explain that, while stopping short of explicitly stating whether vaccines could be mandated, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued guidance that seems to allow employers to require COVID-19 vaccines, even if issued under an Emergency Use Authorization. Thus, Kevin and Rich note in the article that the “consensus in the legal community has been that, at least in the private sector, employers may require at-will employees to be vaccinated, subject to accommodations that may be required for medical or religious reasons.”
Kevin and Rich recently issued a legal alert about the first lawsuit challenging mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations.
