
Overview
Tess advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, contract disputes, wage and hour issues, and Private Attorneys General Act [PAGA] representative actions. She also counsels clients on developing effective handbooks, policies and procedures.
Tess graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she earned a concentration in Employment and Labor Law and served as a Comment Editor of the San Diego Law Review. During law school, Tess clerked for the Employment and Administrative Mandate Section of the California Office of the Attorney General, interned with the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, and participated in the Workers’ Rights Clinic. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable William V. Gallo in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
As a first-year law student, Tess received the first place CEB Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing. Tess also earned three CALI Awards in Human Trafficking, Legal Writing and Research I, and Legal Writing and Research II.
Prior to law school, Tess worked for the human resources team of a multinational technology company.
