With ever-increasing workplace violence situations, companies continue to grapple with what measures should be taken to prevent shootings and/or violence in the workplace. The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration states that nearly 2 million American workers report having been victims of workplace violence each year. Many episodes go unreported. The cost of workplace violence is estimated in the billions each year due to legal fees and awards. Employers can potentially be held liable for their employees' actions, even when such acts are intentional and not within the scope of employment.
This session will cover preventive measures intended to minimize the risk of bullying, harassment, assaults, and other forms of workplace violence. This session will also include active shooter training, incorporating personal safety tips, how you should react, police response, and other important information.
Please join us as Fisher Phillips Partner Annie Lau and Boston Properties Director of Safety & Security John Loftus cover these important topics employers need to be aware of to protect their employees.
