Workplace Investigations in Light of the #MeToo Movement and New DFEH Investigation Regulations

The presentation will include important updates on legal decisions and developments that will better enable HR professionals to be more effective in planning and strategizing HR matters. Updates to include:

• New Workplace Harassment Guidelines issued by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (“DFEH”) in 2017
• EEOC Proposed/New Guidelines on Workplace Harassment (awaiting finalization and publication)
• California’s Fair Pay Act (SB 358) requiring equal pay for “substantially similar work” with respect to employees of the opposite sex which took effect in January 2016, and its subsequent amendments (SB 1063 and AB 1676) which took effect on January 1, 2017 and expanded the Fair Pay Act to include race and ethnicity as protected groups and prevents employers from justifying pay disparities based on prior salary, all of which strengthened California’s existing Equal Pay Act
