Join us for lunch and a discussion on prevailing HR topics. This complimentary event is a great opportunity to network and talk with our lawyers and other HR professionals in an informal and collaborative setting to get the information you need to stay in the know.
The presentation will include important updates on legal decisions and developments that will better enable HR professionals to be more effective in planning and strategizing HR matters. Updates to include:
- New Workplace Harassment Guidelines issued by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (“DFEH”) in 2017
- EEOC Proposed/New Guidelines on Workplace Harassment (awaiting finalization and publication)
- California’s Fair Pay Act (SB 358) requiring equal pay for “substantially similar work” with respect to employees of the opposite sex which took effect in January 2016, and its subsequent amendments (SB 1063 and AB 1676) which took effect on January 1, 2017 and expanded the Fair Pay Act to include race and ethnicity as protected groups and prevents employers from justifying pay disparities based on prior salary, all of which strengthened California’s existing Equal Pay Act
