A True Game Changer: What Schools Need to Know as FHSAA Approves NIL Pay for Florida High School Athletes
Event
6.27.24
11:00 AM — 11:45 PM EST
You’ve probably already heard that the Florida High School Athletics Association (“FHSAA”) approved a rule that will allow Florida high school athletes to receive compensation for their name, image, and likeness (“NIL”). Pending final approval by the Florida Board of Education, it is critical for schools to stay ahead of the game in order to make sure they are in compliance with the new rules, which impact both students and employees. With the start of the athletics season to begin in August, it’s not too early to prepare your school for compliance. Join Brett Owens, Michael Bonner, and Jennifer Carroll of Fisher Phillips’ Education and Sports Industry Groups as they review the requirements of the rule and what schools can do to develop a strategy and determine the next steps.
