What Colleges and Universities Should Do Following The Supreme Court Admissions Decision
Event
7.20.23
1:00 PM — 1:30 PM EST
The Supreme Court’s June decision severely restricted the ability of colleges and universities to consider race as a factor in their admission policies. After reviewing the race-conscious admission policies at both Harvard and the University of North Carolina, the Court struck down both programs, impacting how race can be used to foster a diverse student population. This 30-minute session will briefly review the decision and then focus on practical recommendations for colleges and universities updating their policies and procedures. We will also discuss steps that schools can take if they may want to bolster diversity on their campuses without running afoul of the Supreme Court directives.
