Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce that The Honorable Alan G. Lesnewich, J.S.C. (Ret.) has rejoined the firm as Senior Counsel in its rapidly expanding New Jersey office.
A former litigator and seasoned trial attorney, Judge Lesnewich spent over eight years of his legal career as a Partner at Fisher Phillips before leaving in 2013 to serve as a judge on the Superior Court for Vicinage 12 in Union County, New Jersey. In his judicial capacity, he officiated civil trials, managed complex cases and was responsible for a significant motions docket. Judge Lesnewich served on the bench for ten years until he reached the mandatory retirement age of 70. He now returns to Fisher Phillips where he will concentrate his practice on alternative dispute resolution of all types of employment cases, commercial litigation, claims of personal injury, medical malpractice, dental malpractice, legal malpractice, insurance coverage, contracts and professional malpractice matters. He will also be available to arbitrate cases, provide complex case management and act as a discovery master.
“We are thrilled to welcome the esteemed Judge back to the New Jersey office of Fisher Phillips,” said David Lichtenberg, Regional Managing Partner. “He returns with a valuable perspective from his time on the bench. We know first-hand that there is a significant need for qualified mediators, arbitrators and special masters. Judge Lesnewich will immediately be able to provide counsel and parties with an impartial and skilled viewpoint on the handling of matters, especially those that are complex.”
“I am excited to rejoin the Fisher Phillips family,” added the Judge. “The firm has welcomed me back enthusiastically, and I’m looking forward to once again becoming a valued member of an institution that provided me with such a great opportunity earlier in my career. I can already feel the support of my New Jersey colleagues and the firm’s broader network of top-notch labor and employment attorneys, and I am looking forward to this new chapter in my professional life. I hope to be able to use my skills to allow parties to settle cases or move them along more efficiently as judicial vacancies and the pandemic has unfortunately clogged the system of justice.”
Judge Lesnewich earned his law degree (cum laude) from Seton Hall Law School in 1985 and his undergraduate degree (magna cum laude) from Colgate University in 1975 where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
