San Diego Attorneys Discuss the National Implications of California’s PAGA Law

In a bylined article in The Daily Journal, Jamie Gross and Poline Pourmorady explore why California’s PAGA law, sometimes referred to as “The Bounty Hunter” statute, may be expanding into other states. The law allows aggrieved employees to sue employers on behalf of the state for labor code violations. So far, Colorado has enacted a similar law, and other states are taking notice, say Jamie and Poline. That’s because the law is a real revenue generator, earning California $88 million in 2019 alone.
