In an interview with NOLA.com, Ed Harold discusses the importance of implementing and enforcing social media policies after New Orleans hospital employees were seen on social media in their scrubs and name tags making obscene gestures in the hospital.
Ed explains how many healthcare employers have begun to adopt social media policies that are straightforward in prohibiting employees from posting social media videos at work or on behalf of the companies. “A private employer has the right to discipline or discharge an employee for what they say and do on social media with very little exceptions.”
