Complying with the patchwork of federal, state and local laws that impact the workplace can leave employers frazzled. There are many workplace laws that employers must comply with, including those requiring companies to provide their employees with “reasonable accommodations.” Some of these laws require employers to accommodate employees who are disabled or pregnant, who use cannabis products, whose religions renounce vaccines, and even who wear certain hairstyles. Noncompliance leaves employers at risk for serious legal consequences, including violation of anti-discrimination laws, which may carry harsh penalties.
