In the Commercial Carrier Journal article “Fleets report freight slowdown while juggling social distancing of dispatchers and drivers,” Kansas City Partner James Sullivan comments on the outlook for the trucking industry given the COVID-19 panic. Jim explains that even though several states have issued shelter-in-place orders, “trucking operations have been deemed essential and are exempt from those orders.”
Jim explains that the new social distancing policies instituted at shippers and receivers has been a major hurdle for fleet operations. “It’s bogging down the system,” he says. He encourages fleets to be extra cautious to prevent the spread of the virus.
