Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Danielle Kays has joined the firm as a Partner in Chicago.
Danielle is a first chair litigator from a global AmLaw 100 law firm where she advised and defended companies in class action, single plaintiff, and multi-plaintiff cases in federal and state courts. She handles a broad range of disputes with a focus on biometric and privacy matters, and she is particularly known for leading class action teams in cases involving the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and the Genetic Information Privacy Act (GIPA). Danielle also helps companies avoid litigation with the development and implementation of preventative strategies, policies, and training programs designed to manage risk and ensure compliance with US privacy laws, including new consumer privacy laws in California, Colorado, and Virginia.
“Danielle is known for partnering with employers to provide practical solutions, strategic advice, and compliance counseling to help manage their risk when it comes to the collection, maintenance, transmission, and destruction of biometric data,” said Craig Annunziata, Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips’ Chicago Office. “We are thrilled to welcome a lawyer of her caliber as an asset for companies who are looking for proactive compliance advice or need a seasoned trial attorney to step in and handle privacy disputes through the course of litigation.”
In addition to biometric and privacy issues, Danielle also defends companies in a variety of other complex labor and employment law disputes, including claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, and retaliation.
Danielle earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law where she was Articles Editor of The Elder Law Journal and received the Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Publications. In 2023 and 2024, Women We Admire named Danielle among its list of “Top 50 Women Leaders in Law” for being “instrumental in leading organizations by offering unparalleled legal guidance, championing the rights of clients, and steadfastly upholding the tenets of justice.”
