Fisher Phillips Welcomes Employment Duo in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 17, 2020) – Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, announces the addition of Ben Carney and Phillip Simpler as associates in the firm’s San Diego office.
Carney represents employers in a variety of employment litigation matters, including against claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour disputes. He also has traditional labor experience representing management in collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, union certification/decertification and grievance resolution. Carney received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and his B.A. from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Simpler joins from a California labor and employment firm where he defended San Diego employers against allegations of wrongful termination, defamation, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour class action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases. As an experienced litigator and advocate for employers, he manages all aspects of litigation claims at both the trial and appellate levels and has a successful track record of defending clients before jury trials. Simpler received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law and his B.A. from the College of Charleston.
