Fisher Phillips’ Denver Office Welcomes Experienced Litigator, Vance O. Knapp

Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce that Vance O. Knapp has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Denver office.
With more than 20 years of litigation experience, Vance is known for representing employers in federal and state court litigation and administrative proceedings throughout the country. Early in his career he spent five years as a prosecutor in the Denver City Attorney’s Office, and he has since tried over 300 cases. Most recently, Vance was a partner at a large international law firm where he represented management in complex labor and employment law disputes across a wide variety of industries including transportation, financial services, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail.
At Fisher Phillips, Vance will defend companies throughout all aspects of employment litigation, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination as well as wage and hour collective and class actions. “Vance’s skillful handling of high-stakes employment lawsuits will be a valuable asset for clients across the firm’s national platform,” said Michael Greco, Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips’ Denver office. “The Denver office has more than quadrupled in size since our 2008 opening, and welcoming a first-chair trial attorney like Vance is a great complement to our already talented and always expanding bench.”
In addition to providing litigation counsel, Vance is also known for helping clients prevent workplace disputes by providing extensive counseling on employee relations issues. In this capacity, he helps employers of all sizes develop training and compliance programs on interviewing and hiring, performance management, disability accommodations, discrimination and harassment, and workplace violence. Vance specializes in conducting internal investigations on behalf of audit committees for publicly traded and private corporations. He has successfully conducted and advised numerous audit committees and boards of directors on highly sensitive investigations of senior corporate leaders.
Vance is a thought leader who is frequently asked to speak and write for various groups and professional associations on a variety of employment law topics and workplace concerns. He earned his law degree from the University of Colorado Law School where he was the Associate Editor of University of Colorado Law Review.
