Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Kimberley Dempster has joined the firm as Of Counsel in Denver. She continues the firm’s Colorado growth momentum after the recent arrivals of Hillary Ross, Jane Waterman-Joyce and Stephanie McConkie. And the addition of Kimberley brings the lawyer count in the Denver office up to 35.
Kimberley most recently served as Vice President in the legal department of a publicly traded, full-service energy partnership where she managed litigation, drafted employment-related agreements and policies, and advised executives and human resources professionals on employment matters arising under various state and federal laws. Prior to that, Kimberley spent several years in the Labor & Employment litigation practice of a global AmLaw 25 law firm where she represented employers in state and federal courts and in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state departments of labor, and state civil rights agencies. Throughout her career, Kimberley also assumed various in-house roles including her time as Assistant General Counsel of Labor & Employment at an integrated health care management services company and as Senior Labor & Employment Counsel at a leading American telecommunications and cable service provider.
Her in-house roles and law firm experience combine to make Kimberley a well-rounded employment lawyer with the ability to provide advice on compliance and personnel matters while also being at the ready to defend companies facing complex employment litigation. At Fisher Phillips she will continue to litigate on behalf of employers and will also provide companies with counseling and advice on all aspects of their employment relationships.
Kimberley earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law before becoming a Labor & Employment litigation associate at the largest Colorado-based law firm where she represented employers before various federal and state administrative tribunals. She then relocated to the Washington D.C. area and served as an Assistant Director in the Office of Career Services at the Georgetown University Law Center before returning to Denver.
