Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Frank Magnanimo has joined the firm as a Partner in Woodland Hills, CA. As an experienced employment litigator, Frank’s arrival expands the firm’s growing California Litigation team and deepens the bench of partners who are tackling high-stakes class-action matters and Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) claims.
Frank brings nearly 30 years of experience in defending employers in high-stakes workplace-related matters including wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, wrongful termination, retaliation, whistleblowing, and violations of the Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, and the Pregnancy Disability Leave Act. He represents clients in both state and federal courts in a variety of industries, including hospitality, retail, and healthcare. Frank also represents clients in hearings before governmental agencies such as the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In addition to his litigation practice, Frank provides practical advice to in-house counsel to minimize risk in business operations and guides employers on best practices for workplace investigations, workforce reductions or layoffs, protecting proprietary information, and unfair competition concerns.
“The changing legal landscape in California combined with the recent reform to PAGA puts employers in a unique position to work with outside counsel to reduce their risk for workplace-related litigation,” said Todd Scherwin, Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips’ Los Angeles and Woodland Hills offices. “Adding experienced litigators and counselors like Frank who see the big picture to help our clients protect their business before and after a lawsuit strikes gives us expanded depth to help employers navigate the constant legal changes that are happening in California. We know that Frank will hit the ground running and be an immediate asset to our clients across the state.”
Frank received his J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and his B.S. from the University of Southern California.
