In an interview with Thomson Reuters Practical Law, Kathleen Caminiti and Jamie Gross take a comprehensive look at Earned Wage Access (EWA) programs–which give employers the ability to pay workers as soon as 24 hours after a paid shift. EWAs are also a potential tool in attracting and retaining talent in specific industries. Kathie and Jamie advise that employers take care to follow all state and federal wage and hour laws, including access to the wages themselves.
