Fisher Phillips Adds Two in San Diego, Continuing California Growth

SAN DIEGO (May 30, 2019) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, announces the additions of Daniel J. Kanter as of counsel and Jason A. Fischbein as an associate in its San Diego office.

Daniel and Jason both have diverse experiences defending employers in a broad spectrum of matters, and they are excellent additions to our growing team,” said Christopher C. Hoffman, managing partner of the firm’s San Diego office. “We serve a wide range of clients in San Diego and across the state, and Daniel and Jason will help further our goal of providing top-notch service to our clients across the state.”
Daniel represents public and private employers in a variety of employment litigation matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misclassification and wage and hour violations. In addition, he handles traditional labor matters including collective bargaining, arbitrations, and unfair practice charges. Daniel also counsels employers on regulatory compliance, trains supervisors and employees in English and Spanish, and has conducted more than 100 workplace investigations. Daniel joins the firm from Ogletree Deakins’ San Diego office. He is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section. Daniel earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law (2009) and his B.S.B.A. from Boston University (2000).
Jason represents and counsels employers in all aspects of employment law, including discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, wage and hour disputes and class actions. He joins the firm from Paul Plevin Sullivan & Connaughton LLP’s San Diego office. During law school, he clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office in San Diego. Fluent in Spanish, Jason earned his J.D., with Pro Bono Distinction, from Stanford Law School (2016), where he served as Associate Editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego (2010).
Daniel and Jason join on the heels of several recent Fisher Phillips additions in California. Since the start of 2019, 10 lawyers have joined the firm’s offices in Irvine, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco.
