Doing Business in Mexico: Data Privacy Trends and Upcoming Regulatory Challenges
Event
6.18.24
2:00 PM — 3:00 PM EST
Like many countries, Mexico has been addressing data privacy. Starting on July 6, 2010, with the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data held by Private Parties the Executive Branch has continued to issue regulations, decrees, and laws which protect individuals' data privacy rights. Join us for this comprehensive webinar as Héctor Cuevas explains the ins and outs of Mexican data privacy, including a regulatory overview of data protection in Mexico; the detail of the documentation and processes that are required for compliance, and examine how the potential changes to Mexican data protection regulator might lead to a new era in the way in which this matter is regulated in Mexico. A leading attorney on the topic, Héctor has significant experience designing privacy and cybersecurity programs as well as handling issues such as international transfers under GDPR, e-commerce issues, investigations, and sanctions. Stay tuned for future sessions of the "Doing Business in Mexico" series. Future sessions will include topics such as Union Relations, Litigation, and PEOs/EORs.
