The year 2020 has been a big year for employers. The impact of COVID-19 has changed the workplace for the foreseeable future, and aside from COVID-19, there have been significant legal developments in 2020 that employers cannot ignore.
In this two-hour webinar, Fisher Phillips attorneys will address recent significant developments in employment and privacy law. The program will analyze some significant new wage hour case law updates, provide important workplace privacy updates, address the complicated reasonable accommodation issues employers are facing and some helpful guidelines in dealing with the various scenarios, and cover the various workplace health and safety updates impacting California employers.

Nicole Kamm and Hannah Sweiss will cover some of the important wage and hour developments that have come down this year. They will also cover discuss some unique wage and hour issues employers face as they continue to navigate through COVID-19 and share some useful reminders to help employers limit wage and hour exposure.
Workplace Privacy Update: What You Need to Know About the CCPA, Telework, and COVID-19 │ 9:40 – 10:10 am PDT
Usama Kahf and Darcey Groden will discuss how to determine if the CCPA applies to your organization and if it does, which steps you will need to take to comply. Additionally, Usama and Darcey will discuss common privacy issues that arise among employers during the pandemic, including the legal implications of telework and privacy considerations when screening employees, guests, or customers for COVID-19.
Determining Reasonable Accommodations │10:15 – 10:45 am PDT
Determining reasonable accommodations for disabilities and engaging in the interactive process can feel burdensome and confusing. To help clarify an employer’s obligations, this program will discuss the bright line rules and the questionable gray areas of disability-related laws and provide guidance on how an employer can strive to satisfy its legal obligations when dealing with this tricky area. Fisher Phillips attorneys Talar Tavlian and Erin Price will include a discussion of common issues, including at what point an employee's leave may become an undue hardship and when an employer may safely end the interactive process. They will also discuss new types of accommodations to consider in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Workplace Health and Safety Updates in light of COVID-19 │ 10:45 – 11:15 am PDT
It is no secret that 2020 has been an unprecedented year for employers dealing with workplace health and safety laws and considerations. Collin Cook and Tyler Rasmussen will provide key workplace health and safety updates and considerations when operating in a COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 world. They will also cover some of the recent litigation trends in workplace safety-related claims and best practices to mitigate potential exposure.
