Update on New Legislation for 2018
October 15, 2017 is the last day for Governor Brown to act on any bills passed by Legislature in September.
Some pending legislation includes:
- AB 168 No Salary History Inquiries
- AB 1209 Gender Pay Differentials
- AB 1008 Ban the Box
- AB 450 Immigration
- AB 569 Reproductive Health Discrimination
- SB 63 Parental Leave
- SB 306 Retaliation
We will also discuss what is on the horizon for 2018.

Usama Kahf | Associate, Fisher Phillips
Usama attended Loyola Law School and now represents and counsels employers of all sizes in all aspects of labor and employment law, including wage & hour, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employee discipline and termination, and trade secrets. He also represents clients in audits and investigations by state and federal agencies, including the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and Labor Commissioner.
Philip Azzara | Associate, Fisher Phillips
Philip is an associate in the Irvine office. He represents and counsels employers in labor and employment matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour, worker misclassification, and labor matters before the National Labor Relations Board.
