Overview
Jeff Mandel is the managing partner of the firm’s Orlando office. With over 30 years of experience, he has developed a reputation for being a reliable and efficient counselor and advocate for private and public-sector employers in all aspects of employment and traditional labor law.
Jeff partners with businesses to solve their employment-related issues including: employment discrimination and retaliation, civil rights, disabilities, family and medical leave, military leave, employment policies, employment agreements, and statutory compliance. He also represents employers in employment-related litigation and arbitration before the state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
Having served as a contributing editor of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) publication, The Fair Labor Standards Act, Jeff has extensive experience providing organizations with practical advice and counseling on wage and hour matters, and regularly defends employers in both single-plaintiff and collective overtime and minimum wage actions.
Additionally, Jeff has decades of experience representing employers in traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, labor arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC).
Jeff is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Labor and Employment Law. In 2013, he was inducted as a Fellow into The College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, which is the highest recognition by an attorney’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession. In 2016 and 2018, Jeff was named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for Litigation - Labor and Employment in Orlando, and in 2017 he was named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for Labor Law – Management in Orlando.
